Located on two floors of a tower in Warsaw’s Spark complex, the new UPC office is a space where futurism combines with graphic motifs and homely elegance. In the space designed by The Design Group, graphic iconography provides visual variety while also serving as an element that helps with wayfinding, giving the space an original, slightly comic-book character. There’s also no shortage of greenery and elegant furniture, which create a homely, cosy atmosphere. The office focuses on open spaces with openwork partitions, almost entirely doing away with private offices (leaving just one for the company’s CEO). The interior also offers quiet zones for focused work, spaces designed for chilling out, and coffee points. The catering area looks like an elegant, home-style kitchen. This effect is further enhanced by, among other things, fronts made of copper-coloured laminate.
The reception area was designed in a futuristic, technical style with a generous dose of greenery and elegant furniture. Every element has a rounded or oval shape, which is especially visible in the form of the built-in elements and the striking ceiling lights. Against the backdrop of the installation, interlocking luminous circles appear, three of which symbolise UPC’s complementary services. Meanwhile, elegant furniture from top manufacturers makes this part of the office feel more like a living room or café than a typical waiting area.
Already here you can spot a characteristic element of the office design – polished graphic iconography. It helps with wayfinding and adds visual variety to the space. As a result, the space looks partly like part of a computer interface and partly like a comic-book universe. The whole is completed by full-wall graphics with illustrations and motivational slogans, created through the collaboration of UPC and The Design Group with a creative agency. This makes the environment pleasant to look at, modern and youthful. The bold colour scheme blends with elegant industrial black and a modern style.
