OFFICE STYLE:
It’s technical and raw here. This is the kind of space the client wanted – a place that not only speaks volumes about the company itself, but also suits the analytical minds of the engineers working here.
MAIN THEME:
We closely linked the office’s main design concept to TechnipFMC’s business. That’s why, inside the headquarters, we took care of many details referencing the Client’s machinery, tools and materials: industrial lamps, trusses, containers, yellow technical barriers and reclaimed container doors.
PROJECT:
Structurally, the office references what TechnipFMC does – supporting the extraction of resources from the seabed. Four levels were therefore defined:
The first floor is the underwater space. The second represents the water’s surface. The third and fourth are the decks of a vessel used during offshore operations.
An interesting place in the office is the void zone. This is an open space integrating floors 2, 3 and 4, connected by glazing to floor 1. This solution makes it possible to look from the first level onto the other floors of the office – almost like observing the world from underwater.
This is also where a golden structure was installed. It consists of several thousand small glass spheres suspended on nearly 1,000 cords. It depicts the so-called Subsea Tree, TechnipFMC’s flagship product, which, when placed on the seabed, controls the extraction of resources.
The void zone is also a symbolic integration of all the teams working on each floor, where open spaces, collaboration areas and meeting rooms are arranged. In the previous location, this connection was impossible, so the client was very keen for all employees in the new office to feel a sense of consolidation.
