OFFICE STYLE:

A blend of raw industrial style with a modern look, to which we added a touch of classic, homely elegance.

MAIN THEME:

The idea of balance between elegance, rawness and the warmth of the materials used.
From the outset, the UMP office space was meant to be consistent with other Universal offices around the world. It was to convey a relaxed, entertainment-industry vibe while at the same time emphasising the full professionalism and modernity of Universal Music Poland. At the same time, the office had to be tailored to employees, their needs, and support their everyday work. That’s why the space is elegant, kept in a dark colour palette that gives it a distinctive character. It is also inspiring, stimulating creativity and radiating a homely atmosphere – all so that employees and visitors to the label can feel safe here, as if at home. The project used natural, eco-friendly materials from Polish suppliers.

PROJECT:

The main part of the Warsaw headquarters of Universal Music Poland is located on the top, fifth floor of the office building. This is the company’s representative section. It houses the reception area, the main conference room, a kitchen connected to a terrace, an open space with separate themed rooms, a video studio, and the offices of the management team. In this zone, for the comfort of office visitors, the designers decided to place a design icon – elegant, iconic velvet sofas and armchairs in the English Chesterfield style, allowing for comfortable relaxation while maintaining a simple yet dignified posture. In the open space, every desk is equipped with ergonomic Herman Miller chairs, individually adjustable by users (identical to those in Universal’s London office), and a Lutron lighting control system with intensity and warmth adjustment. This floor also features a special tiered seating zone, used both for creative meetings and individual work in a less formal setting. It stands out with its moody, warm lighting in the form of a starry sky.

The second, more intimate part of the office, covering approximately 300 m², is located on the fourth floor of the building and houses the Polish branch of the iconic label Def Jam. This space has a slightly different, less formal character. It features plenty of soft seating, a small open kitchen with a neon sign, only two private offices, a Loud VIP Room, and a distinctive open space combined with a stage, centred around a large, comfortable sofa with armchairs and a coffee table, designed to create a friendly, homely atmosphere. This is a creative zone intended primarily for artists and managers.

Distinctive features of the Warsaw office of Universal Music Poland certainly include custom-made, classic neon signs placed in selected departments of the company. The most eye-catching feature is a specially designed selfie mirror. We deliberately placed it in the passage to the video studio, frequently used by employees and visitors to the label. On this mirror, a neon sign with a fitting slogan was installed: “no music no life”.
