The interior design of the office for one of Europe’s leading financial services providers is an example of a harmonious combination of modern design, functionality and comfort. Our studio’s task was to create a space that reflects a modern approach to work, while inspiring and motivating employees to achieve ever greater success. The project also aimed to attract young talent while showing respect for the company’s long-serving employees.
When designing an office for such a large and diverse organisation, the key challenge was understanding and meeting the varied needs of employees. This required an in-depth analysis of their working styles and the creation of spaces that support both teamwork and individual focused work.
Previously, the office’s working style was based on a traditional layout dominated by closed rooms and a rigid structure. This layout did not support flexibility of work or collaboration between departments.
The new office introduces a more open, flexible space that supports collaboration and communication. One of the biggest challenges was moving employees from a cellular office layout to an open space. To ease any potential negative attitudes towards this change, the open space was designed in a way that evokes a homely atmosphere. We used acoustic partitions in the project, which also double as writing boards and allow employees to personalise the space. Thanks to the introduction of wooden elements, gentle, calming colours and panelling, the open space has become a friendly place that encourages working in comfortable conditions.
Employees can now use a variety of workspaces, depending on their needs – from open spaces for teamwork to private focus pods for individual tasks requiring concentration. This variety of workspaces translates into greater flexibility and efficiency, allowing employees to choose the most suitable work environment for the moment.
In this project, we also decided to incorporate works of art as an integral part of the office design. Selected artworks, forming part of the client’s heritage, were placed in central locations throughout the office. These artistic accents give the space a unique character while highlighting the company’s commitment to culture and art. Art in the office serves not only an aesthetic function but also inspires employees and visitors, creating a unique atmosphere.
In the office design process, we placed particular emphasis on sustainable development. We reused furniture from the old office that was in good condition, which not only reduced waste but also served as a nice nod to employees accustomed to these items. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone, together with careful attention to high-quality acoustics and lighting, helped create a healthy and comfortable work environment.
